The G.S.E. classification defines three kinds of PV insatallations depending on their architectonical integration:
- Free standing systems: PV plants installed on the ground or on a plan roof with no parapet.
- Semi-integated systems: PV plants installed on a pent roof and with panels leaning over the roof covering, or PV systems based on a plan roof with a parapet.
- Integrated systems: PV plants installed on a pent roof with PV panels replacing the roof coverings.
The architectonical integration rewards the owner with a higher incentivation tariff, as shown in the following table.
