Wind Power

Mankind has been using wind power during thousands years for sailing, grinding and pressing, pumping water with windmills. Only in the last decades wind power has been used to generate electricity. Modern windmills are called aerogenerators, but the working system keeps being the same: wind moves the blades, and the kinetic energy is transfered to a electrical generator.

Aerogenerators

There are many types of aerogenerators, from the smallest 50 cm blades, used like a battery charger, to the 30 metres blades aerogenerators which can produce 1500 KW.
The most common type of aerogenerator is the medium size one: 50 metres high, with 20 metres blades, it can produce 600 KW and satisfy the electrical needs of about 500 families.
